The Supreme Court on Friday directed BSES and Tata power companies to pay 20 per cent each of a total power tariff arrears of Rs 411 crore to Maharashtra State Electricity Board (MSEB) immediately and stayed a Bombay High Court order directing BSES to pay 80 per cent of the total arrears.
The bench asked the two companies to pay Rs 16 crore each to MSEB in the month of July and posted the matter for hearing on August 13, a petition filed by BSES challenging the High Court order. The total power tariff dues to MSEB along with interest works out to Rs 411 crore as on June 30, this year.
