CHANDIGARH, May 19: The Haryana Government has spent Rs 20 lakh to provide financial assistance to voluntary organisations engaged in amelioration of social-economic status of the poor people of the society during the last financial year.
In a statement issued here Haryana Social Welfare Minister Kamla Verma said the Department of Woman and Child Development was providing grant-in-aid to the voluntary organisations for children libraries. The department will be setting up training centres for women.
