Having demanded from the Chattisgarh government the details of the Dantewada killings, National Commission for Scheduled Tribes chairperson Kunwar Singh has demanded a review of the state government’s anti-Naxal policy.

‘‘It’s high time that the Centre take stock of the Salva Judum. Instead of protecting tribals, the campaign is resulting in their killings,’’ said Kunwar. ‘‘The government surely needs to change its strategy on tackling the menace of Naxal violence. It’s much wiser to focus on the grassroot causes that attract common people to Naxalite philosophy than to use force and make innocent civilians sitting ducks for armed insurgents,’’ he said.
