A day after making peace with the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leadership, senior legislator S Santhosh Reddy today donned the role of a mediator to placate the other rebels. Efforts were stepped up to contact the dissidents, particularly the four MLAs from Warangal who had raised a banner of revolt against party chief K Chandrasekhar Rao.
Savouring the ‘‘home-coming’’ after a brief rebellion, Santhosh Reddy hosted a lunch for the party’s top brass at here where strategies were discussed on how to woo the rebels back into the party fold. ‘‘We are hopeful of convincing the dissidents and sorting out minor irritants,’’ TRS sources said. A sense of jubilation was palpable in the party after Reddy came back following an appeal by Rao.
Reddy’s expulsion had set off rebellion in the party with four MLAs shooting off an open letter to the party president faulting his ‘‘autocratic behaviour’’. PTI
