MARCH 27: Noble One (S S Baria up) set a very slow pace and the favourite who was guided by B Prakash prefered to be within the shadow of the leader. The same pattern continued till 300 metres to home. Thereafter both the runners were alerted to speed up their strides and it appeared that San Marino Star would oblige but finally lost in photofinish by margin of `short head’.
The recorded time of the event was 2 min.21.64 sec. which speaks valumes. The stewards had took serious note of poor handling of the favourite and jockey B Prakash is suspended for five days for injudicious ridding and giving misleading evidence.
