Chief coach Gerhard Rach is very angry with the Indian media.
After today’s match, the German refused to speak to the scribes, saying, ‘‘You guys write what you want. You put words in my mouth. I am not going to speak to anyone.’’
He was referring to a recent newspaper article, which had quoted him saying that Indian striker Gagan Ajit Singh had an ‘‘attitude problem’’ and “could not get along with the team”.
‘‘I never said anything like that,’’ Rach declared.
Gagan himself added his bit to the story: ‘‘I met the coach last night and again this morning, and showed him the article attributing the quotes to him. We have sorted everything out. Now there is no problem.’’
Gagan also said that Rach has assured him of ‘‘being included in any forthcoming camp,’’ and that he had been excluded form the India leg because ‘‘he did not want to disturb a winning combination’’.
