CHANDIGARH, Nov 4: The Punjab team, virtually comprising shooters from Police department, gave an excellent peformance and finished overall runners-up in the 41st National Shooting Championship (Big Bore) conducted by Infantry School, Mohow from October 23 to 31. The Punjab Police shooters contributed 10 gold, 11 silver and three bronze medals.

More than 200 shooters, representing various organisations and States and Union Territories, took part in the national championship. The Punjab Police Academy had recently won the All-India Police Duty Meet.

Former internatinal coach TS Dhillon also contributed two gold and one silver medals.

Other noteworthy performance came from Inspector Santokh Singh, Inspector Sewak Singh, Col TS Dhillon, ASI Avtar Singh, Constable Avtar Singh, ASI Narinder Singh, Cts Darshpreet Singh, Harlap Singh and Keshav Kumar. Additional Director General Police and Director PPA AS Siddiqui hailed the performance and suitably rewarded them on their return from Mhow.
