Webber beats Red Bull teammate Vettel to take British Grand Prix pole

Webber qualified in a time of one minute,30.399 seconds at Silverstone,England.

Red Bull driver Mark Webber edged out teammate Sebastian Vettel in qualifying for the second time this season to secure pole position for Sundays British Grand Prix.

Webber qualified in a time of one minute,30.399 seconds at Silverstone,England,0.32 seconds faster than Vettel.

Red Bull has now taken pole position in all nine races this season – two for Webber compared with seven for Vettel.

Ferraris Fernando Alonso is third on the grid and is joined on the second row by team-mate Felipe Massa,Sky Sports reports.

McLarens Jenson Button in fifth,one place ahead of Paul Di Resta,who produced a superb lap in his Force India for a career-high position on the grid.Williams Pastor Maldonado also registered a best ever qualifying result in seventh,with Saubers Kamui Kobayashi eighth and the Mercedes of Nico Rosberg in ninth.

British star Lewis Hamilton will start down in 10th after struggling for pace in his McLaren.

Reigning world champion Vettel has won six of eight races this season to lead Button and Webber in the points table by 77 points.
