Sanjeev Rajput missed the Commonwealth Games’ bus in his home country due to an injury.

Though 50 m rifle prone shooter,Sanjeev Rajput missed the Commonwealth Games’ bus in his home country due to an injury,he has had the distinction of living in two games’ townships — the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games the 2008 Beijing Olympic village. But while others narrate stories about food and ambience,Rajput had a pleasant surprise awaiting him at Beijing where there were four Chinese youngsters who spoke Hindi fluently and made the Indian athletes feel at home. “They spoke to us in perfect Hindi and guided us through every step of the way,catering to our every need and making the entire event a very hospitable event for us,” says Rajput. The four teenagers had spent three years in India only to learn to speak Hindi fluently in order to volunteer as translators for the Olympics. The village had an entire block dedicated to house the Indian contingent.
