Somdev loses in quarterfinals in Atlanta

India's Somdev Devvarman bowed out of the Atlanta Tennis Championships singles.

India’s Somdev Devvarman today bowed out of the Atlanta Tennis Championships singles event after a straight-set defeat at the hands of defending champion Mardy Fish of the United States in the quarterfinals here.

Eight seeded Somdev lost 4-6 3-6 to the top seed American in a 52-minute last eight contest in the USD 531,000 hard court event.

Somdev had beaten Ryan Sweeting of United States and Japan’s Ito Tatsuma en route to the quarterfinals.
