Mumbai Indians coach Shaun Pollock today lauded Harbhajan Singh’s captaincy in the Champions League T20 tournament, saying the offspinner thrives on responsibility and “lead the team from the front”.

“Bhajji is the kind of person that thrives on responsibility, whether it be as a captain or on the field. if you give him the ball in a pressure situation,I think that’s when he performs best,” Pollock told reporters ahead of their semifinal with Somerset on Saturday.

Harbhajan took over the captaincy of Mumbai Indians after injury ruled out a clutch of senior players including regular captain Sachin Tendulkar.

“He’s been very calm, relaxed and focused on the job.

He’s taken advice from players all over the field and been keen to what the coaching staff have to offer. So I think he’s done a good job,and has backed it up with quality performances which is important for a captain,to lead from the front.” “Lot of credit for our success has to got to Harbhajan for the way he’s performed as captain,” he said.
