Four players who participated in the Australian Junior Indoor Cricket Championships in Perth have contracted swine flu,Cricket Australia said. Two players from Queensland and Western Australia each have been confirmed with Human Swine Flu after tests on Thursday.
“Our advice is that any player,official,support staff,or spectator that has any flu-like symptoms and was at the tournament,should see a general practitioner as soon as possible,” Cricket Australia CEO James Sutherland said.
“CA has taken advice from public health authorities and is currently working through a process to communicate with anyone who may have attended the championships,” he added.
The championships was held with 25 teams competing in Under-18,16 and 14 in male and 14 & 18 in female divisions. Cricket Australia is trying to contact the airlines who transported players to and from Perth to inform them of these confirmed cases.
