CBI director P.C. Sharma today said that the Portuguese authorities have assured to send 1993 Mumbai blast accused Abu Salem back to India once his trial there is completed.
‘‘Our request for Salem’s extradition has been accepted by the Portuguese authorities. We have been assured that he will be sent back and that his trial in Portugal will be completed within a time frame,’’ Sharma said. The CBI, he said, has also appealed before the Portugese court for extradition of Salem’s wife, Monica Bedi.
