With state elections behind them, the Left parties have planned to take on the Election Commission and will raise the issue in Parliament. However, they have chosen their words carefully while serving notice for a calling attention motion, saying the discussion would be on the standardisation of norms for conducting elections. “This is something on which Parliament will have to assert itself. There can’t be any double standards,” CPI(M) MP Sitaram Yechury said.
