PM, Sonia Gandhi to visit Ahmedabad on Monday

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi will visit Ahmedabad on Monday to have an on-the-spot-assessment of the situation in the wake of the serial blasts that rocked the city, killing 45 people.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi will visit Ahmedabad on Monday to have an on-the-spot-assessment of the situation in the wake of the serial blasts that rocked the city, killing 45 people.

Singh and Gandhi, who will also be accompanied by Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil, will visit hospitals where the injured are undergoing treatment, official sources said.

The injured are being treated in Civil Hospital, LG Hospital and Vadilal Sarabhai Hospitals in Ahmedabad.

They would be returning to the national capital later in the evening.

Terror struck Ahmedabad on Saturday when 16 coordinated serial blasts ripped through the metropolis killing 45 people and injuring 162 others, a day after multiple explosions rocked Bangalore.
