CHANDIGARH, JULY 25: The PGI Employees Co-ordination Committee has demanded grant of Hospital Patient Care Allowance in light of the AIIMS authorities granting the same to their employees.

According to R. K. Khanchi, president of the committee, a representation has been sent to the authorities, urging early grant of HPC allowance. "The director of All India Institute of Medical Sciences has given approval for this grant to all group A and B employees. The employees of this institute are not getting either HPCA or risk allowance," he said.

"At PGIMER, employees like the medical technologists, on getting promotion, have to loose Rs 700 per month on account of HPCA," he added. The committee has demanded grant of Rs 1,000 for HPCA and Rs 800 as risk allowance, with effect from May.
