CHANDIGARH, Sept 17: A dharna was organised by activists of Punjab Federation of University Teachers Association (PFUTA) at the Punjab University today.
The teachers criticised the Union government for delaying the notification of the new pay-scales for university teachers. The Punjab government too came in for condemnation for what PFUTA activists called efforts to curb the autonomy of university administration and for insisting for an approval of the government before filling university posts.
Punjab University Teachers Association (PUTA) secretary M Rajivlochan said the dharna had been organised at the call of PFUTA.
