PUNE, April 16: Even as the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) is yet to allot a financial assistance of Rs 2.32 crore to the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Transport (PCMT), a proposal seeking financial aid of Rs 7.3 crore for purchase of new buses from the corporation was on Wednesday deferred by the civic standing committee.
There was hardly any discussion on the proposal and without citing any specific reasons it was deferred. Standing committee chairperson Shamim Pathan indicated that the members were not keen on approving the proposal in a haste. The transport committee last month had approved a resolution for financial aid from the corporation for purchase of 70 buses.
