Pakistan players touring India next month will have their interaction with the media closely monitored by the team management and the Pakistan Cricket Board.
“The players will have to strictly follow the code of ethics in their contracts and their sessions with the media would be monitored. It is an important tour and we want them to concentrate totally on cricket,” PCB chairman Nasim Ashraf said today.
He was responding to questions at a news conference with regard to the ban on fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar and issues regarding discipline within the team. Ashraf made it clear that players would not be given a free hand in India to have media contracts.
“We are very clear in our mind that there will be no compromise on discipline at all,” he said. Pakistan will play five one-day internationals and three Tests in India, starting in the first week of November.
“Any player violating discipline or the code of ethics of his contract will face severe action under the prescribed laws of the board,” he added.
