CHENNAI, June 24: The Union Commerce Ministry will set up two high-powered panels to fine-tune the working of the new export-import policy and iron out problems faced by exporters with government officials, Commerce Minister Ramakrishna Hegde said today.

The move formed as part of the ministry’s effort to `de-bureaucratise’ the country’s export initiative, Hegde said while addressing exporters at an interaction meeting organised by the Confederation of Export Units (CEU) here.

The two bodies to be `set up soon’ were the international trade advisory body and the committee on international trade, both of which would establish a quicker and more effective communication channel for exporters with the government.
