Armed Palestinians kidnapped an Israeli Arab producer for CNN TV network from a car in Gaza City on Monday. There was no immediate claim of responsibility.

Earlier, Israel accused Damascus of ‘‘directing terrorism’’ and threatened pre-emptive strikes against militants on its territory. Israeli Deputy Defence Minister Zeev Boim said Syria was ‘‘a central junction in regional terrorism’’.
