TORONTO, SEPT 19: Pakistan maintained their winning momentum by drubbing the West Indies by 42 runs to clinch the three-match DMC Trophy one-day cricket series 2-0 here yesterday. Set to score 223 runs for a win and level the series, West Indies failed to stand up to the balanced Pakistani attack and were bundled out for 180 in the 46th over. Newcomer Wavell Hinds, who made 65 brave runs, top-scored for the West Indies.

The hero of Pakistan’s win was Yousuf Youhana whose unbeaten 104 (114b, 13×4) and 149-run partnership with Abdur Razzak (55: 77b, 2×4, 1×6) pulled out the World Cup runners-up from a crisis when the side was tottering at 68 for four.

“It’s a great start to the new season, we would like to make a clean sweep and maintain the winning streak in the coming months,” said a jubilant Pakistan skipper Wasim Akram, whose team faced an outcry at home after the stunning loss in the world cup final to Australia.
