NEW DELHI, July 15: Leander Paes’ chances of cracking the top 100 will have to wait for some more time. In the latest Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) rankings, the 24-year-old Indian has slipped four spots in singles — 108 from last week’s 104. Mahesh Bhupathi has improved his ranking to 245.

Paes had to win the Hall of Fame tournament at Newport (Rhode Island) or at least reach the final last week to inch closer to the elusive under-100 mark. Paes lost to Armenian Sargis Sargsian in the semi-finals.

In the individual doubles, Paes is ranked two places below Bhupathi at 54, and in the team they have slipped from 20 to 22.
