CALCUTTA, FEBRUARY 16: Favourite Leander Paes stormed into the quarter-final while fifth ranked Igor Gaudi of Italy and eighth ranked Marx Guillaume of France fell by the wayside losing their pre-quarter final ties on the third day of the Indian Oil-Servo ATP Challenger Tennis meet at Calcutta South Club courts here on Wednesday.

The other Indian in the fray for the singles title, Vishal Uppal, lost to the lone Pakistani in the meet, Aisam Qureshi 6-7 (4-7) 4-6 after a keen tussle.

Indian Davis Cupper Prahlad Srinath who featured in the doubles quarter-final with partner Kobi Ziv of Israel also bowed out of the meet losing to Indo-French duo of Syed Fazaluddin and Cedric Kauffmann Ziv 6-4 6-3.
