The Government of India on Thursday entered into revised air bilateral agreements with the governments of Oman and Bahrain, increasing existing traffic entitlement to 11,550 seats per week for Oman and 11,500 seats per week for Bahrain and freeing all limitations on cargo services.
While Oman’s request for adding Mangalore as a new point of call may have to wait until the new Mangalore airport is ready, Bangalore and Kozhikode have been included as additional points of call besides Mumbai, New Delhi, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Chennai, Hyderabad, Lucknow and Jaipur. For India, the points of call in Oman are Muscat and Salalah.
Both sides have also decided to free up all limitations on the cargo services. There will be no restrictions in terms of frequency and point of call for operating cargo services.
The designated airlines of the Sultanate of Oman can use any point as intermediate points or beyond points’ but without fifth freedom traffic rights.
