SURAT, Sept 30: An International Journal of Pharmaceutical Excipients, the first ever journal to be published, will hit the stands on Thursday.
The Journal, edited by Nagin Shah, will be exclusively devoted to fundamental and applied research in pharmaceutical excipients. It will focus on the role of excipients in a drug formulation manufactured to remain stable till the expiry date.
According to Shah, recent advances in pharmaceutical sciences have opened up new vistas for the applications of known excipients as well as the development of newer ones. Investigations in these areas are progressing at a rapid pace and therefore the need is felt for providing a separate scientific journal to publish these findings.
The Enar Foundation Research Centre (EFRC), decided to fill the void that now exists due to the absence of documented scientific journal devoted to review of current status of knowledge and dissemination of the results of research on pharmaceutical excipients.
The Editorial Advisory Board consists of distinguished scientists from India and abroad, claims Shah. The inaugural issue of the journal contains Editorial, review articles, technical notes. The research papers will be published in the next issue in the month of January.
