PUNE, Sept 17: The National Association of Computer Trainers (NACT) has proposed guidelines for an informal code of conduct among members of the association to set stringent standards for computer education.
Addressing a press conference, Suresh Bharwani, president of NACT said that it was very important to ensure that students do not encounter problems with unscrupulous operators who do not deliver the promises made by them during enrollment.
A four-member committee has been formed by the association to prepare these guidelines and the work is expected to be complete within the next three months. He said, although the association does not have any judicial powers to enforce the guidelines, it proposes to take serious cognizance of complaints lodged by students who have been victimised by inefficient institutes. The association also proposes the creation of a forum where the students, parents and teachers can interact on a regular basis and sort these discrepancies, he added.
Formed in 1991, NACT has seven chapters and 952 members in the country. “The IT industry in India Rs 14,000 crores of which computer education alone accounts for Rs 850 crore, said Bharwani.
