Morena, Nov 28: A 65-year-old priest was attacked by four unidentified persons at Piplipura church here last night, police said.
The culprits decamped with cash and jewellery from from church lockers, police said today.
The priest, Alphonso has been admitted to a Gwalior hospital and his condition was stated to be serious, police added.
According to a complaint lodged with the police, the assailants attacked the priest with lathis and axes when he refused to surrender the valuables to them.
After receiving information, Inspector General of Police(Chambal range) rushed to the spot and a case has been registered under sections 459, 394 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code.
