CHANDIGARH, Feb 12: The Chandigarh chapter of Lok Shakti staged a dharna at Sector 17 Plaza here today. The activists demanded that the vendors of rehri markets from Sector 39 to 46 be allotted with booths as they had already deposited the sum of Rs 3,000 with the Chandigarh Housing Board.
Among other demands, they asked for an increase in the boundary of Lal Dora; a reduction in the bus fare of the CTU buses following a reduction in the prices of diesel. They demanded quick actions from the administration to bring law and order under control in the city.
The activists later presented a memorandum of their demands to the Governor of Punjab and U.T. Administration.
