NEW DELHI, July 7: The reports of the lie detector tests of five persons in the Shivani murder case have been put on hold, as the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) is not yet through with the tests on IPS officer R K Sharma. According to CFSL sources, the reports will be handed over to the Delhi Police once they complete the tests.
Five persons put to the lie detector tests are Shivani’s husband Rakesh Bhatnagar, her sister, Rakesh’s brother-in-law, R.K. Sharma and one Manoj. The delay, however, was caused by Sharma’s tests which, sources say, have not yet been completed.
He was first put to the lie detector test in the first week of June. He had to go through the test again on last Friday and Monday. The CFSL is understood to have asked him to appear again. The CFSL, which has a heavy schedule of lie detector tests for the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), has not issued a fresh date for the test so far.
Rakesh Bhatnagar was the first person to be called for the tests. He underwent the tests on May 21, 24 and 25. The tests on the others followed. Sharma too was first called for the test in the last week of May. But he did not appear for the tests in May, citing health reasons.
