Kundalini Yoga: Cure within the body for all ailments

Persons practising yoga, particularly Kundalini Yoga, may quite identify with this fantastic idea. It may seem only a fantasy to thers. However, with scientific basis backing up the idea, it suddenly seems quite probable.

The idea was unfolded in details and propped by scientific reasoning here today by Cdr Dr H S Sharma,national president of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers. He was delivering a lecture on the topic `Bio-radiation and instrumentation : an alternative perspective’.

A post-graduate in Electronics Engineering and doctoral degree holder in neurology, Dr Sharma has carried out a profound research into the human body and mind, coming out with a theory that the human being is a `most integrated instrument of a divine database’. He holds that the ailment of this instrument arises out of imbalance in its internal bio-radiation system, which has different control centres in the body. He thus believes that any ailment can be detected, diagnosed and corrected by locating and restoring the balance in the bio-radiation system. He puts forth as a challenge before the engineers and medical professionals, development of an instrumentation, which could bring about this task. He is confident that in the near future, such instrumentation – on the lines of bionic devices – will come about and willbecome the ultimate thing in human health and excellence.

Though it may still seem fantastic, it begins to make more sense, when this confident ex-navy man backs up his theory – based mainly on the age-old upanishads – with pure science. Dr Sharma puts it in a very simplified way. When the foetus is about two and half month old, life energy (part of divine energy) enters into the just developed brain and gets refracted into four different levels of the being – the physical body, the subtal body or the mind, the causal body – which is the instructing authority for the physical and subtal body and finally the supercausal body or supersoul. The remnant energy then gets stored in the sacrum bone at the base of the spinal cord.

All these four levels of the body are connected by the autonomous nervous system (ANS). There are three types of nerves, among them those taking the signals from the cell to the brain, those taking signals from the brain to individual cell. The joint where these nerves cross eachother or join are called plexus. At the plexus, the nerves, which emit radiations equivalent to electromagnetic radiations create a electromagnetic field which has clock-wise and anti-clockwise components, with a thin space in between.

There are seven plexus or control points in the body, all situated on the spinal cord, which are connected and control the various organs including every cell of the body. He also gave details about these aspects as mentioned in the Upanishads.

The problem starts when the human being develops uncontrollable ego, which affect the control systems. This ego blows over the clock-wise and anti-clockwise components of the field of the control centre and blocks the central channel, causing the ailment related to that particular control centre. The cure is then to reactivate the energy stored in the sacrum bone, which pushes and open up the channel, restoring the balance of the system are curing the ailment.

He said that this stored energy can be reactivated by severeyogic practice such as Kundalini Yoga. However, he said, soon some physical instrument could be developed that could detect and diagnose these signals of higher order and reactivate the energy externally to bring about the cure.

He mentioned that some Russians scientists are known to work upon such instruments, although details are not known.
