PUNE, May 10: Karawade siblings — Eesha and Rucha added another feather to their cap winning the Maharashtra State under-14 and under-12 category chess titles held recently at Dombivili.

Eesha, who has already earned a berth for herself in the girls under-12 National tournament, opted to play in the boys under-14 section, and came victorious accumulating 7.5 points. Amar Kamat and Saurabh Barve finished second and third.

Meanwhile, Rucha claimed the girls under-12 title with six points out of possible seven. Kruttika Naidg also of Pune came second, adrift of half-a-point. In the girls under-14, Kolhapur’s Shraddha Samani finished on top with an all win record. Pune’s Pangha Magal with 5.5 points and Amruta Mokal with five points followed the winner, respectively. While, the boys under-12 section saw Aurangabad’s Yogesh Mapari winning the title on progressive points. All the winners and runners-up have qualified for the mini Nationals to be held at Calcutta from May 20.
