Tamil Nadu CM J. Jayalalithaa on Sunday said the state government was awaiting the PM’s response to its letter regarding taking action on Union Minister of State for Non-Conventional Energy Sources and MDMK leader M. Kannappan under the Prevention Of Terrorism Act (POTA).
The state was planning to detain Kannappan under the anti-terror Act for his support to the banned LTTE — branded as a terrorist organisation under POTA.

In a briefing here, Jayalalithaa said: ‘‘We have brought this to the notice of the Prime Minister and we are awaiting his response.’’ ‘‘I can say only this at this moment,’’ she added.
