Well-known Kannada writer and Jnanpeeth Award winner U R Ananthamurthy has been appointed Chairman of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune, by the Union Information and Broadcasting Ministry.
Confirming the appointment to The Indian Express, Ananthamurthy said it was a great privilege to serve in such an institute and he would try to contribute his best.
