Harmeet Kahlon finally ended his title drought on the Hero Honda Golf Tour with a superb victory in the rain-truncated Chandigarh Open here today. A birdie on the final hole sealed a well deserved win for the pro whose final round card of three-under 69 handed him a tournament tally of 11-under 205 and the winner’s cheque of Rs. 1,62,000.

Kahlon, Hero Honda Masters champion (an APGA Tour event) in 2002, had gone without a title in domestic tour in the last three years though he did manage a few runner-up finishes.

The tournament was reduced to a 54-hole affair after lightning and thunder-showers led to the third round being called off. Three strokes behind the winner, was second placed Amandeep Johl at eight-under 208. Veteran Kanpur pro Shiv Prakash made an impressive final round charge with a course record equalling seven-under 65, pole-vaulting him to the third position at seven-under 209.
