CHANDIGARH, May 29: The Punjab government has fixed June 10 as the last date for depositing old-age pension in the bank accounts of the eligible beneficiaries whose claims have been accepted after due scrutiny.

Disclosing this here today, an official spokesman said a total of 3,35,728 beneficiaries had been sanctioned old-age pension up to March 31, 1998. He said the state government had received 11,28,196 applications by October last out of which 1,11,138 were found in order. This was in addition to the 2,24,590 beneficiaries up to March 31, 1997. The state government has allocated Rs. 120 crore for disbursement during the current year for this purpose.
