Inflation fell marginally to 6.14 per cent for the week ended April 26 against 1.75 per cent the previous year even as fruit prices shot up over 3 per cent. The point-to-point wholesale price index (WPI) inflation fell by 0.02 per cent from the previous week’s level of 6.16 per cent though fuel prices stood firm. WPI, however, rose by 0.3 per cent to 172.8 points in the latest reported week.
The final WPI stood corrected at 170.9 for the week ended March 1 compared to provisional level of 169.6 and final inflation was 5.49 per cent as against the provisional mark of 4.69 per cent.
