  • Around 55 species of vegetables and pulses, 24 species of fibre crops,12 species of oil seeds and various wild strains of tea, coffee, tobacco and sugarcane.
  • Around 26 breeds of cattle, 40 of sheep, 20 of goats, eight of camels, six of horses, two of donkeys and 18 types of poultry. And, amazingly, India’s eight breeds of buffaloes represent the entire range of buffaloes in the world.
