BHUBANESWAR, MARCH 31: Taking swipes at the Opposition for muckraking on the Bhagwat issue and the Guruswamy issue, Union Minister for Urban Development Ram Jethmalani on Wednesday said that he will expose the `honourable gentleman’ called Guruswamy, though he was his friend.
“Just watch out. I have got documents and I will show how things are being fabricated by the Communist Party of India and the Communist Party of India (Marxist) members in Parliament. The kind of flippant and laughable allegations being levelled by Guruswamy can’t stand the test of truth. I was not allowed by the Opposition leaders like P Shivshankar and Somnath Chatterjee to make my points on the Guruswamy issue clear,” a passionate Jethmalani told a audience that listened to his speech in rapt attention during the function organised to mark the 109th birthday of Biswanath Das here.
Repeating that the Opposition has invented a `kind of a scam’ in Guruswamy, he said once the Parliament assembles, he will take the `pants off’ of theOpposition brigade. “Does it smell of Bofors scam, the Hawala scam, the Harshad Mehta scam and other such scams during the Congress regime. These people can’t simply swallow the fact that the Atal Behari Vajpayee Government has been a scam-free government,” he said.
Mincing no words to criticise the tea party arranged by Subramanian Swamy, the legal eagle said third rate, crooked politicians, who felt like `fish out of water’ once they went out of power were holding such parleys. “They have no solution to country’s problems. But they can’t stand a scam-free government from Atal Behari Vajpayee,” he repeated.
