CALCUTTA, FEB 17: For Pakistani pace bowler Shoaib Akhtar, bowling Sachin Tendulkar out on the very first ball he faced was a long-time wish fulfilled.

“I was praying in my mind `god, can I get him today?’ and my prayer was answered” Akhtar said after his splendid four wicket haul today. It was the first time Sachin got out to the first delivery he faced.

Pointing out that his responsibility had increased in this match since he was replacing Waqar Younis, Akhtar who had barely missed a hat-trick chance, said “I knew I had to do well here.”

The pace bowler, who was more comfortable with old balls, said it took some time to display his best. “I was waiting for it (ball) to get old.”
