NEW DELHI, May 15: The Delhi High Court today stayed till Monday the operation of a subordinate court order directing the police to arrest the government nurses on strike for violating the Essential Services Maintenance Act (ESMA).

The Division Bench comprising Justices Ramesh Chandra Lahoti and Mukul Mudgal stayed the order of metropolitan magistrate Rajesh Aggarwal till the petition comes up for hearing again on Monday. The Bench said since negotiations were on between the Government and the nurses nothing should be done to "vitiate the environment".
