Gujjar agitation: BJP leader demands Raje’s removal

Deputy leader of BJP in Uttar Pradesh assembly alleged Raje allowed the situation to turn into a ‘crisis’.

.

Blaming Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje for “failing” to tackle the situation following Gujjars’ agitation in the state, a senior BJP leader from Uttar Pradesh on Thursday demanded the party high command for her immediate removal from the post.

Deputy leader of BJP in Uttar Pradesh assembly, Hukam Singh, criticised Raje and alleged that she “failed” to handle the situation properly which has now turned into a “crisis”.

Singh, himself a Gujjar, told reporters that he has already made the BJP president Rajnath Singh aware of their feelings and demanded the removal of Raje to bring the situation back to normal in Rajasthan.

Meanwhile, vehicular movement on the Delhi-Dehradun national highway was disrupted today as hundreds of Gujjar activists staged a road blockade for several hours at Bhagela checkpost in the district.
