Commerce and industry minister Kamal Nath on Monday agreed to help the plantation sector, which accounts for 15 per cent of the country’s total farm exports. At a meeting of heads of commodity boards and other stakeholders representing tea, coffee and rubber plantations, Nath agreed to examine the demand for a special risk policy for tobacco exporters through Export Credit Guarantee Corporation and a specialised institute for spices technology.
