SANGLI, Nov 6: “Government officers who have amassed extensive wealth misusing their power would be investigated if people came forward with complaints and evidence,” said district collector Nitin Kareer.
Talking to newsmen, Kareer stated that incidents of corruption were serious and necessary steps would be taken to control this. The district administration was in touch with the anti-corruption department in this connection, he added.
There have been complaints about certain police officers in the district who have been getting themselves posted in particular areas for years together without transfers, the district collector said adding that such cases would be invistageted.
