SEAGATE Technology announces a ‘peace of mind’ programme through National Insurance Company (NIC) for PC users offering a three-year computer protection for components. The programme is applicable to new PCs purchased on or after August 18, 2003, equipped exclusively with Seagate disc drives. However, there is no restriction on the PC brand. The three-year package offered by NIC will provide reimbursement to consumers covered under the programme for repair or replacement of parts if they are found to be defective due to mechanical and electrical breakdown. The programme is offered to consumers for Rs 399 (net) for PC systems up to Rs 30,000 and Rs 599 (net) for PC systems between Rs 30,000-Rs 50000 inclusive of all taxes.
