Gold prices slumped for the second consecutive session on the bullion market on sustained stockists’ selling pressure in line with distinctly weak overseas advice following a positive report on the Iraq disarmament situation by UN inspectors.
Standard gold tumbled by Rs 70 to close at Rs 5,610 from weekend levels of Rs 5,680.00 on renewed heavy offerings by stockists. The ten-tola gold bar declined to Rs 65,750 from Rs 66,600 on Saturday. Meanwhile, silver pries fell in sympathy with the white metal quoted at Rs 7765.00 per kilo at the close from Rs 7795.00 previously.
