The much-awaited Ernst & Young awards are out. Tata Group chairman Ratan Tata has been named the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of The Year 2003.
E&Y noted that since Tata took over the reins of the Tata Group in 1991, he has transformed the relatively unwieldy conglomerate to one which is more nimble-footed and cohesive. Tata will now represent India at the E&Y World Entrepreneur of the Year Award Ceremony in Monte Carlo in June.
The legendary founder of the Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation Dr Verghese Kurien received the Lifetime Achievement Award for making the milk cooperative movement a reality which has changed the lives of millions of farmers in the country.
