JANUARY 9: About 12,000 members of The Diamond Merchant’s Association, apart from 7,500 diamond exporters have declared a bandh tommorrow. The bandh is to demonstrate their support to leading diamond merchant and film producer Bharat Shah.
They also allege the media has wrongly implied that most diamond merchants have links with the underworld.

According to Navin Mehta, the vice president of the association they declared a bandh after discusing the matter in detail at a meeting in their office at Opera House. The bandh will cause a loss of an estimated Rs 200 crore.
