NAGPUR, JAN 1: Gowari Samaj Sanghatan – the tribal group – has termed the Dani Commission Report, which exonerated former chief minister, Sharad Pawar, in the Gowari stampede tragedy, as one-sided, biased and alleged that the Commission had overlooked the circumstantial evidence.
Stating that the insensitivity of the previous Congress government towards the problems faced by poor members of the Gowari community and the lathi-charge made by police on the fateful day led to the tragic death of 114 Gowaris, the Sanghatan expressed anguish at the Commission’s Report absolving both the government and the police from the responsibility for the tragedy.
