MELBOURNE, FEB 12: The Australian Cricket Board (ACB) today said it will take no action against South African captain Hansie Cronje, who admitted spearing a stump through the umpires’ room door after the contentious final day of the third Test in Adelaide early this month.

In a statement, ACB chief executive Mal Speed said the Board had received an apology from Cronje and regarded the matter as closed.

The incident came after a tense final day when South African players were incensed that Australian batsman Mark Waugh was not given out after dislodging a bail with his bat several seconds after being hit by a Shaun Pollock bouncer.
